Quest Log Podcast for World of Warcraft

I play World of Warcraft like a few million others. I was searching for podcasts again on iTunes and ran across this one. Its a very simple video cast but well done and very informative. Check out his web site for subscription info or subscribe in iTunes.

Podcast Makes the Dictionary

New Oxford American Dictionary announces Word of the Year: 'Podcast'

Podcast, defined as "a digital recording of a radio broadcast or similar program, made available on the Internet for downloading to a personal audio player," will be added to the next online update of the New Oxford American Dictionary, due in early 2006.

I'm Back! Backed up! And Oh Yeah SHARKS!!!

OK - I'm back from the Bahamas and from Thanksgiving and I am so so so very very very backed up again on podcasts (also doesn't help that I have been playing video games too!) OK so enough of my excuses. I'm getting down to business here shortly. Just added a couple podcasts while you were laughing at my feeble excuses. :)

Bahamas was great. Was a nice 85 degrees (F! not C!) all week long. It was a little windy but not bad for this time of year. I stayed at Atlantis which is a cool theme resort. Its owned by Sol Kerzner, the same guy who owns Sun City in South Africa and some huge Indian casino up north (forgot the name). I have to say though that the Palace of the Lost City (the older sister resort to Atlantis) is WAY better. Looks about the same except for the theme (elephants vs sharks), but the service in Sun City was way better. The food was excellent (food @ Atlantis was mostly overpriced CRAP!) The rooms at Sun City were better too. For less money we got a room that was twice the size of our Atlantis Royal Tower room.

So while we were there Genelle and I went snorkling and scuba diving. Below is a picture of me snorking on the surface of a school of Reef Sharks. Now they tell you that Reef Sharks are harmless and they've never had any problems and they are 30-40 feet down eating up free fish in a chum basket. But MAN when you get in the water and see one come up about five feet you really start thinking about those Reef Shark attacks in Florida. I stayed in the water for about 10 minutes. It was intense! (see picture below of my flipper and a dozen reef sharks below it!)

What's Going On!

Wow. I can't believe I've got 40 ratings and several reviews on Yahoo's Podcast site. Its pretty cool! I'm going to start podcasting again real soon beore people stop listening to the existing Twelve Pack of Shows. I've gotta change the format of the show as it was taking way too long for me to do. Genelle and I will be in the Bahamas during the LA Podcast Convention so I won't see you there! ;)

What else... FeedBurner's blog linked to my site, regarding a post I made about One Click iTunes links. BTW - FB rocks!

Thanksgiving is nearly here! Yeah! Then I get to put up all the Christmas lights and we'll be going to sunny Florida for Christmas! Yeah!

Oh yeah - I caught up a few days more on the podcast submissions. I'm backed up just now to Nov 2nd! Sorry I'll have them sorted our in short order. I can't add anymore today! Gotta go shopping and prop up the economy!

Don't forget to rate the Podcast Shuffle Show on Yahoo's site if you have a Yahoo ID (and if you don't sign up for one and vote!!!)

PS: Here's a plug to my buddy Paul from Barefoot Radio. He'll have a new show out Sunday night, Monday morning so check it out and subscribe!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Halloween to everybody. Genelle and I have been passing out candy to all the kids coming by. Its great fun! I dressed up as the Grim Reaper to scare the kids at the door.

I'm a couple days behind on podcast directory submissions. So if you sent one in this week, I haven't gotten to it yet. I'm still on October 28th. :)

Free MP3 Ringtones!

I have the new iTunes ROKR phone and am in need of some custom ringtones. When I search in google for ringtones or free ringtones all I get is a bunch of crap sites trying to sell me something. I don't think there are many quality sites out there where you can actually get a ringtone for free.

So I'm planning on settting up a feed of ring tones that I make in Garageband and that other podcasters or musicians want to send in. I'd imagine that other phones will be able to use them as well.

Here's my first four: mp3-ringtones-01.zip that I'll be putting in the feed later on. Maybe I'll even setup a separate directory. If you have something to share let me know via mail to podcastshuffle [at] gmail [dot] com. (its gotta be podsafe though... and about 8-15 seconds long)

On the Verge of Fourty

Lance from the Verge of the Fringe, turns fourty in his latest episode. Be sure to check it out or click here to Listen Now!

This is a very low-key cast about me turning forty. The good news is that at least I have "perspective" ... In the pre-ramble I thank you for your kind thoughts about "Monkey" and I talk about the Mac Klass. Plus I pimp the LA Podcasters and our booth at the Podcast Expo. Also, I'll be performing next week at Story Fest 05...

Motorola ROKR iTunes Phone

My wife bought me a Motorola ROKR iTunes Phone for my birthday and I have to say its pretty cool. The phone has good reception, works well with the over the ear Motorola BlueTooth ear piece and has an awesome speakerphone. You can listen to 100 songs via the built in iTunes feature. Also if you're listening to music and a call comes in you can just take the call with the ear buds still in. I like that feature the most because often I am doing calls from noisy airports and having both ears plugged into the conversation will totally reduce ambient noise. The call answer feature that pauses your music will be great too because I am always worried about not hearing the phone while listening to music on my iPod. I think I'd still take my 4G iPod along on long trips. One draw back... loading music on the phone takes a while. Seems like the phone's USB connection is 1.0 or something similar. Its slow! However I have loaded a mix of tunes that I won't change for a while so its not a big deal. If you're in the market for a new phone I'd check this one out. Definitely not a iPod replacement but for times when you just need one device and want some tunes it will be perfect. I recommend it!
